What is Equine Bodywork?
Equine bodywork can often resolve years of stress and stiffness in a few sessions. Just like bodywork in humans, it works by relieving built up tension in core muscles and key junctions of the body that affect the horse’s performance. Gentle bodywork, a manual therapy, is done using the horse’s nervous system. As such, they are an active participant in the process. This approach to bodywork has a huge impact on horse behavior, range of motion, and performance, resulting in happier and more heard equine partners.
Equine bodywork can help with:
stiffness during farrier visits
prior to competition (no less than a week prior to)
short, choppy gaits
Improper carriage of body, etc.

Pulse-emitted Electromagnetic Frequency Therapy, also known as PEMF, is a fantastic tool to use in conjunction with manual therapies. Utilizing magnetic energy to stimulate the cells, PEMF boosts the healing efforts of manual therapies. When used in conjunction with other modalities, it allows the therapist to get deeper into tissues, helping with cellular turn over and lymph movement.

Taping is applied to parts of the body that need extra help (i.e.., pronating hind legs), helping draw out swelling, and adding a gentle reminder for your equine partner to use a muscle body properly. It can also be applied to key junctures in the body to provide more stability.

Red light therapy can aid in rapid healing, fluid movement, muscle recovery and reduction in chronic and acute pain. It works by emitting a specific wavelength of light to a focused area, penetrating through the skin and into the cells to promote rapid energy production and regeneration. Red light has been shown effective on a wide variety of ailments, particularly soft tissues, tendons, and ligaments.
